REINKE ROCKETS TO RUNNER-UP HONORS! WHITNEY OVERCOMES MECHANICAL ILLS TO GAIN PODIUM FINISH!
July 27, 2014; Jim Falls, WI – The chill in the air was perhaps fitting, as the “North Pole Nightmare”, Bill Balog, completed a sweep of the three event “Northwoods Tour” with a victory at Eagle Valley Raceway. On an unseasonably cool evening, a solid showing of fans gathered at the three-eight’s mile banked oval to see the only event of the year for the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprints at the venue.
A very shallow redraw, placed the fastest four drivers at the start of the field for what would prove to be a very fast paced contest. Balog, who started on the pole, was fresh off two victories on the three-event weekend, having already captured wins at Langlade County Speedway and ABC Raceway the prior two nights. He came into the program at Eagle Valley as the defending event winner becoming an odds-on favorite to complete the sweep this evening.

A track where he has now captured wins in all three contests held at the facility.

July 20, 2014; Slinger, WI —Just days after his impressive fourth place finish in the SuperSeal Slinger Nationals, 66-year old Wisconsin Short Track Hall of Famer Conrad Morgan proved he still has what it takes as he held off fellow veteran Lowell Bennett to win the Pomp’s 60 super late model feature Sunday night at the Slinger Super Speedway.
“It feels like the older I get, the younger I feel,” Morgan told the crowd from victory lane, “when you’ve got Lowell (Bennett) behind you for ten or fifteen laps and you can still beat him, you’ve accomplished something. I’ve been racing him for 30 years and I don’t think we have ever had a run in.”
